La Porcherie is a 200 year old stone house which can accommodate 10 guests. On the open-plan ground floor there is a large sitting area with comfortable setees and armchairs, wood burning stove and DVD player and screen. The dining area has a table and chairs for 10 guests. The kitchen is fully-equipped with all modern conveniences designed to make your stay as comfortable as possible. There is a downstairs toilet. On the first floor, there are 4 bedrooms, 2 with double beds and 2 with twin beds (and room for a cot). There is one bathroom which comprises of bath tub, with a shower over it, toilet, bidet and wash basin. There is also a separate shower room with toilet and wash basin. On the 2nd floor there is a mezzanine bedroom (accessed by ladder) with 2 single beds. Cots and highchairs are provided.

This is a large and spacious house with high ceilings.

Outside there is a 12 metre x 6 metre swimming pool which is fenced and fitted with a child-proof gate. There is a large, well established, child-friendly garden.

This wonderful area of the Dordogne is acclaimed for its cuisine. We can recommend several excellent good value restaurants in the immediate area. The surrounding countryside is ideal for walking, cycling, horse riding, and there are numerous paths and tracks to follow in the nearby forests.

Brantome, on the Dronne River is ½ hour away. Here you can hire a canoe and take in the beautiful scenery for which Brantome is famed. The local caves at Villars are 10 minutes away.

‘La Porcherie’ is situated in the small hamlet of Vieille Abbaye, in the ‘Parc Naturel Perigord/Limousin.
